¡Witchcraft! La imagen de la bruja en Lost Highway de David Lynch

Resumen

La intención de este trabajo consiste en elaborar un argumento para identificar a en tres secuencias la figura de “la bruja” en la película Lost Higway, con base en niveles diegéticos y metadiegéticos. Para analizar el plano visual, se consideraron los elementos básicos del lenguaje cinematográfico, así como algunas referencias artísticas principalmente relacionadas con el gótico inglés y la cultura pop de los años cincuenta. Mientras que para el texto escrito y la trama se retomaron nociones estratégicas de la nostalgia posmoderna. Finalmente, también se analizaron los recursos que ofrece el texto sonoro.

Abstract

This text puts forward an argument to identify along three secuences, the figure of The Witch in the film Lost Highway with the consideration of diegetic and metadiegetic levels. Several basic elements of cinetmatographic language were considered for the analysis of visual aspects, various references related to English Gothic Art and 50´s Pop Culture were observed as well. In order to dissect the written text and plot some strategies from the postmodern nostalgie were used. Finally, sound resources were also conceived as a text to be read.
